Expansion Into New Communities
A narrative account of calendar year January through December 2024 — the year we deepened our programmes across Asia, wherever communities asked us in.
Highlights from 2024
This year marked a significant expansion of MTN's programmes across Asia. Our work broadened through partnerships with trusted local NGOs in new communities — extending mobile health coverage to remote districts with no other access to medical care, and launching women's vocational training cohorts in places where no such programme had previously existed. Each new cohort was modelled on programmes proven over decades at our flagship operations.
Healthcare reach broadened
Mobile medical camps extended to remote communities across Asia where no doctor had previously visited — reaching households that had not seen care in years.
Child welfare expanded
Community health and child welfare programmes launched in new partnerships with trusted local NGOs, extending our children's work to additional communities.
Women's training cohorts launched
First women's vocational training cohorts opened in new regions, adapted to local livelihoods and language — bringing sewing, literacy, and healthcare knowledge to women who had never had access to such programmes.
Clinic operations steady
Our health clinics continued serving more than 50,000 patients across outpatient, surgical, ICU, and maternal services.
