Our SDG Alignment
Mission to the Nations contributes to 12 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals — across healthcare, education, clean water, gender equality, nutrition, clean energy, and child protection.
What Are the UN Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 global goals adopted by all 193 United Nations member states in 2015, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They cover the world's most pressing humanitarian, environmental, and economic challenges — from ending poverty and hunger to achieving gender equality, clean water for all, and climate action.
For donors, foundations, and corporate partners, the SDG framework provides a shared, internationally recognised standard for evaluating and reporting impact. MTN's programmes are aligned with 12 of the 17 goals — making us eligible for a broad range of institutional grants, development funding, and corporate CSR budgets that use SDG alignment as an evaluation criterion.
MTN qualifies for 12 of the 17 SDGs — an unusually broad alignment for an organisation of our size, reflecting the integrated nature of our circular economy programmes where a single intervention (e.g. the Cattle Circle) simultaneously addresses SDG 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, and 13.
