About these terms

By using missiontothenations.com (“the Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. The Site is operated by Mission to the Nations (“MTN”), a US 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 38-4124280) incorporated in California. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

Use of the site

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Reproduce, duplicate, or copy any content from the Site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems.
  • Transmit unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material.

Donations

Donations made through this Site are voluntary gifts to Mission to the Nations, a US 501(c)(3) public charity. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by US law. MTN will issue a donation receipt within two weeks of receiving your gift.

MTN will apply your donation to the programme or purpose you designate where operationally possible. If a designated programme is discontinued or the funds cannot be applied as directed, MTN reserves the right to redirect your gift to its general charitable purposes. You will be notified if this occurs.

Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us at info@missiontothenations.com within 30 days and we will review your request.

Volunteers

Volunteer placements with MTN are awarded at our sole discretion based on programme need, fit, and safeguarding considerations. By submitting a volunteer application or participating in any MTN volunteer programme, you agree to the following:

  • Volunteer status. Volunteers are not employees, contractors, or agents of MTN. Volunteering creates no entitlement to compensation, employment, or future engagement.
  • Child safeguarding. Any volunteer working directly with children or vulnerable adults must comply with MTN's child safeguarding policy, which will be provided before placement. Breach of safeguarding standards is grounds for immediate removal and may be reported to relevant authorities.
  • Conduct. Volunteers are expected to treat all beneficiaries, staff, and community members with dignity and respect, and to refrain from any behaviour that could bring MTN into disrepute — including on social media during and after a placement.
  • Confidentiality. Volunteers may encounter sensitive information about beneficiaries, field operations, or partner organisations. This information must be kept strictly confidential and must not be shared publicly, including in personal blogs, social media posts, or media interviews, without MTN's prior written consent.
  • Photography and media. Volunteers may not photograph, film, or record beneficiaries — particularly children — without explicit permission from MTN field staff on a case-by-case basis. Any content captured must be shared with MTN before publication and may not be published without MTN's written approval.
  • Health and safety. Volunteers travel and work at their own risk. MTN strongly recommends volunteers obtain appropriate travel insurance, vaccinations, and medical clearance before any field placement. MTN is not liable for illness, injury, or loss incurred during volunteer activities.
  • Termination. MTN reserves the right to decline any volunteer application or to end any volunteer placement at its sole discretion, including for breach of these terms, safeguarding concerns, or operational reasons.

Intellectual property

All content on this Site — including text, photographs, programme data, case studies, and the MTN logo — is the property of Mission to the Nations or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright law. You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with attribution. You may not reproduce substantial portions of our content without written permission.

Brief excerpts may be quoted under fair use for journalistic, academic, or educational purposes, provided attribution is given to Mission to the Nations and the use does not misrepresent our work or position.

Photographs of field programmes, beneficiaries, and staff are used with appropriate consent and may not be reproduced, cropped, or used out of context without our express written permission.

Accuracy of information

MTN makes every effort to ensure the programme statistics, case study data, and impact figures on this Site are accurate and up to date. All figures represent documented outcomes from MTN's field programmes. Where figures are cumulative lifetime totals (e.g. patients treated since 1990), this is noted on the relevant page. We update statistics at least annually.

Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (partner organisations, payment processors, social media platforms). These links are provided for convenience. MTN is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site and does not endorse them by linking.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. MTN does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site or your reliance on any content it contains. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you donated to MTN in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alameda County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
