Mission to the Nations

Thirty-six years of changing lives — one community at a time.

A US 501(c)(3) delivering healthcare, education, livelihoods, clean energy, child protection, and nutrition across Asia.

Digital Brochure · 2026 · 501(c)(3)

The Gap We Close

Millions of people across South Asia live more than two hours from the nearest doctor. Our field programmes have spent 36 years closing that gap.

For the communities we serve, the distance to help isn't measured in minutes — it's measured in preventable deaths, dropped-out daughters, and untreated wounds. This brochure is a short account of what's possible when an organisation decides, on purpose, to stay.

Why We Exist

The need is not abstract. It has a name, a face, and an address.

600M+

People across South & Southeast Asia without reliable access to safe drinking water

40%

Of rural girls drop out of school around puberty — no toilets, no support

1 in 3

Children under 5 facing chronic malnutrition in the regions we serve

We go where other organisations find it hard to reach — the last village off the last road. Our work is neither dramatic nor glamorous; it is daily, local, and rooted in 36 years of community trust.

What We Do

Eight programmes, one promise: show up and stay.

🎒

Child Welfare & Education

Residential care, free schooling, daily meals, and healthcare for orphaned and at-risk children since 1990.

🏥

Healthcare

50-bed hospital with a 23-bed ICU, full surgical and maternal care. The only affordable option for many in the region.

🛡️

Child Protection & Rescue

Identification, rescue, and rehabilitation of children in exploitative or dangerous situations — ensuring every child reaches safety and school.

🚻

Girl's Education & Sanitation

Sanitation blocks and menstrual-hygiene rooms in schools where girls were dropping out at menarche. Zero dropouts at menarche in schools with MTN sanitation blocks.

🍚

Nutrition & Food Security

Street feeding stations, emergency food rations, and targeted nutrition support for the most vulnerable families and children.

🧵

Livelihoods & Enterprise

9-month vocational training — sewing, literacy, and small-business skills. Graduates leave with a sewing machine and a livelihood.

Clean Energy & Environment

Solar installations, clean cookstoves, and community infrastructure bringing energy access and environmental resilience to remote villages.

🩺

Community Health Outreach

Monthly mobile clinics to remote villages — doctors, nurses, and medicine delivered to the doorstep.

Why We Started

“We started in 1990 with seventeen children and a conviction that no one should be left behind by geography. Today, more than a million and a half lives later, that conviction has not changed.”

The pages before this one show the scale of the need. The pages after show how seventeen children became seventy-five thousand, and how a single children's home became the hospital, schools, livelihood programmes, wells, and camps that serve communities across Asia today.

A Life Changed

Priya, age 16 — first in her family to finish grade 10.

Girls in MTN school

“If I become a nurse, I want to go back to my village. The women there would not have lost their children if someone had come sooner.”

— Priya, age 16
Baseline, 2016

Orphaned at 5 when tuberculosis took her father. Mother too ill to work. Priya and her sister dropped out of school. One meal a day. Priya had stopped speaking.

Through MTN

Placed in our children's home. Daily meals, regular health checks, tutoring, counselling. Enrolled in grade 2, on time, the year she arrived.

Today

Grade 10 board exams next quarter. Top five in her class in biology. Accepted into MTN's nursing-pathway mentoring cohort.
