  • Diagnosed with leprosy at 54; family could not afford MDT treatment
  • Advanced ulcers on both feet; lost fingers on his left hand
  • Moved to a shed at the village boundary by his relatives
  • Stopped attending any community gathering for 8 years
  • Arrived at the first MTN camp with suspected sepsis
Through MTN
  • Enrolled in MTN's monthly leprosy clinic in 2019
  • Monthly wound dressing and free multi-drug therapy (MDT)
  • Custom protective footwear to prevent re-ulceration
  • Monthly ration of rice, dal, and oil
  • Inclusion in the leprosy-affected fellowship group (monthly meeting)
Results
  • Ulcers healed within 8 months; infection load zero since 2022
  • Attends every fellowship meeting
  • Now leads the footwear distribution day for newly arrived patients
  • Is the first face newly diagnosed patients meet at intake
